The newly-established SI Ethics Committee and SI Finance and Administration Committee (SIFAC) held their first meetings, on the 9 and 11 of September respectively, at the offices of the International Maritime Organization in London.

As specified in the Statutes of the Socialist International, the attendance of both Committee meetings reflected a fair and wide geographical balance of SI member parties, and participants were present from Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.

During the meetings, Committee members discussed the work for the coming period outlining current aims and goals.
