Motion on Akbayan
The Socialist International Asia-Pacific Committee conveys to the members of the host party, Akbayan, its deep gratitude for the warm and fraternal hospitality shown on the occasion of this meeting in Manila.
The Committee salutes the role of Akbayan in the present government of President Benigno “Noy-Noy” Aquino and expresses its full support for the party in its efforts to work with the government in pursuit of the goals we share within our International of strengthening democratic institutions, tackling corruption, eradicating poverty, increasing education, furthering sustainable development and addressing environmental issues and climate change. The Committee also commends the important work of the party on improving labour rights, social protection and the vital issue of reproductive health.
